Ambient, dreamy and time bending experience with melodic pianos, ambient tape loops and subtle electronics.

Somewhere between Ólafur Arnalds and Library Tapes, with William Basinski in the ascendant

An intense musical bastard of melodic rock, folk, klezmer and balkan with rusty vocal and heaps of stage presence.

Somewhere between Arcade Fire and Tom Waits, with Leonard Cohen in the ascendant.

Multi-award winning Afenginn started as a Balkan brass-inspired, deviously clever party band and has over two decades evolved from local cult fandom to prominence, first on the Scandinavian and then the European folk and rock festival circuit.

Afenginn has performed all over the world with their odyssey of grand compositions, odd meters, sonorous modes and the eccentric intensity of the north. Together, the elements combine in the nuance and intellectual glee of classical composition, while carrying the listener forward, the way a good rock song can. The effect is intoxicating.

AFENGINN, formed in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2002 has built up a solid reputation for their virtuosity and dynamic liveshows. Influenced by folk, world and classical music, Afenginn have created their own individual style ranging from lyrical, cinematic compositions to charismatic and wild dance tunes - always with a rhythmic and melodic finesse which is distinctively Afenginn.

Featuring violin, mandolin/guitar, clarinets, drums, bass/cello, piano/keys and occasional vocals this highly acclaimed 6-piece takes an anarchic approach to traditional musical structures. Meaning "intoxication and strength", Afenginn shows are fuelled by a deep joy, a mesmerising peacefulness and poise, and always seek to cross borders and push the limits of their virtuosity and live performances

Afenginn has played with symphonic orchestras and participated in ballet productions and performed together with classical choirs. With consistency and diligence, Afenginn has released seven highly acclaimed albums and received a wealth of awards and grants in their home country as well as worldwide appreciation and success.

Afenginn has toured all over Europe, Australia and the US and performed at festivals, concert halls, venues, radio and TV holding audiences of all ages in the palms of their hands, receiving standing ovations wherever they went.

“Afenginn has become a towering force in new Nordic music”
— Chris Nickson, fRoots Magazine (UK)
“You would be hard-pressed to find a band that with equal part talent, routine, curiosity, depth, and musicianship manage to produce great, relevant albums, while still (or perhaps especially) playing brilliant concerts.”
— Peter Hvalkof, booker at Roskilde Festival (DK)

MUSIC

The risks and radicalism of quiet music prove to be a rich seedbed for Faroe Islands collective Klingra. Spawned from the band Afenginn in 2020, Klingra – the name refers to something circular – start from a point where all extraneous matter seems to have been pared away, leaving room for the members to explore and experiment with elemental and emotive currents of atmospheric pop, electronic and classical influences.

Klingra project a precarious sense of immersive drama that compels: the closer you listen, the more their subtleties resonate. The bandmates’ collaborative previous helps to facilitate an ego-free chemistry, where much of the action happens between the notes.

Kim Rafael Nyberg (keys, piano, vocals), Dánjal á Neystabø (piano, keys, vocals), Maggie Björklund (pedal-steel guitar), Mikael Blak (bass, electronics), Heðin Ziska Davidsen (electronics, guitar), Knut Finsrud (drums, percussion) and Roma Komar (sound, trumpet) all truly listen to one another, forging sound-worlds of a deeply attentive intensity.

The result is a wide-open invitation to listeners to think and feel, encouraged by Klingra’s powers of evocation. In concert, audience reactions have testified to that power. “The response has been very strong,” says Kim. “Many have mentioned being moved to tears, others that they felt like closing their eyes and going into an inner space, others again that it put them in a state of remembering things and emotions from the past.” More such reactions will, surely, follow for this most transporting of bands.

Klingra is also available as a trio

MUSIC

Vielsted is an ambient/neo-classical collaboration between composer Kim Rafael Nyberg and music producer Romans Komar.

Birthed in early 2021, Vielsted premiered as a musical feature at a curated psychedelic event. This sparked off a burst of inspiration and desire to dive deep into a musical expression where slowness, ambience and easy melodies are in focus.

Live Vielsted offers a dreamy, ambient and time bending experience with a melodic piano in focus.

MUSIC

The band Danjal is a group of talented musicians from the distant corners of the North: Denmark, Sweden, Finland and The Faroe Islands. These different backgrounds blend beautifully into the diverse compositions.

On stage an instrumental overflow accompanies Dánjal in an intense musical bastard of melodic rock, folk, klezmer and balkan. With years of very high activity on the live scene the ensemble has developed their very own unique sound and output. It is impressive and entertaining to see the strange and very different personalities blend together into perfect harmony.

The lead singer and pianist, Danjal á Neystabø has the eminent ability to make you smile with a bad taste in your mouth. With his exceptional voice and lyrics containing moving and provocative stories, he presents songs with humor and intimacy. It’s not without controversy when Dánjal puts pen to paper. He comes from a long line of politicians. With a mother as former cultural minister, a grandfather and a great-grandfather as former prime ministers, he has a natural political awareness that serves as in inspiration in his lyrics, and it is not foreign for him to tip the political scale in the name of humanity.
